Rumours and speculation surrounding the Warcraft movie continue to swirl, with new reports suggesting that Vikings star Travis Fimmel is in line to play one of the film's four leading roles.
If true, Fimmel (who plays Ragnar Lothbrok in the History Channel series) could well be appearing alongside Paula Patton (Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol) and Colin Farrell (Total Recall), both of whom are reportedly in negotiations with the studio.
To recap, we now know that there are four lead characters. We know that Duncan Jones has signed on to direct, while Charles Leavitt has penned the script. Sam Raimi was attached to the project months ago - but has just signed on to direct the upcoming Army of Darkness sequel.
Really, that's about as much as we know about the film. It's not based on World of Warcraft specifically, and we know virtually nothing about the storyline as it stands.
However! BlizzCon is just a couple of weeks away, and there will be a panel dedicated to the cinematic project, with Blizzard's Chris Metzen and Rob Pardo appearing alongside director Duncan Jones, so - fingers crossed - we'll be learning more in the near future.
Warcraft hits cinemas on December 18, 2015.
