Did you know that Bayonetta is being made into an anime? Bayonetta: Bloody Fate will hit (Japanese) screens next month, with characters based on art from the original game. This new trailer shows off Jeanne, Luka, Rodin, Enzo and Cereza, all alongside the "enchanging and sadistic witch".
While the game - even in Japan - featured English voice acting only, this new adaptation will be acted completely in Japanese. Bayonetta is played by Atsuko Tanaka - a name familiar to fans of the Ghost in the Shell series as the voice behind Motoko Kusanagi.
Bloody Fate is in safe hands - Afro Samurai director Fuminori Kizaki is in the chair again for this one, and further art design is coming from part of the team behind Super Street Fighter IV and recent Evangelion films.
The film is set for release in selected Japanese theatres on November 23rd, and there's been no official word yet on a western release. That said, the official website does feature an "English" link in the top corner... but it's been disabled, and hidden under a banner simply reading "Wait". Is this a positive sign from production company Gonzo?
Thanks, Anime News Network!
I like video games and music and cups of tea and noodles and beagles and colour-cycling LEDs.
