At gamescom this week, Microsoft has made a big song and dance about Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare arriving on Xbox One and Xbox 360. Not to take away from that spotlight, PopCap has made a somewhat smaller musical number about the fact that the game is also coming to PC "shortly after" hitting Microsoft consoles.
Tony Leamer, Plants vs. Zombies franchise director at PopCap explains:
With its first reveal in June, we blew fans away with a glimpse of a game that takes the Plants vs. Zombies world to an entirely new genre. Here at gamescom, we’re showcasing even more exciting elements, including Kinect for Xbox One and Xbox SmartGlass gameplay in Boss Mode, playable Zombie classes, character customization, and more. These amazing features will help make this one of the must-have action games of 2014.

So at this point, we're looking at a modest initial roll-out of the third-person action adaptation of one of the greatest tower defence games of all time (of all time!). Don't worry though: PopCap has also hinted that announcements regarding "other platforms" are coming in due time.
If we had to put money down, we'd suggest that "other" platforms means "all of them" - and if you're hanging out for Garden Warfare on PS3 or PS4, you shouldn't be too disappointed just yet.
