New Mad Max trailer shows in-engine play

We've finally been given a (short) look at the upcoming Mad Max game from Avalanche Studios, and while it still doesn't shed much light on gameplay, it should go a long way to reassure fans that the Swedish developer is on the right track.

Hope is lost and only the savage survive. In a world where the roads are paved to nowhere, what choices will you make to stay alive?

One other thing that's not shown in this video is an appropriate accent. Avalanche boss Christofer Sundberg has promised us an Australian voice in the finished game - we're still anxiously waiting to see whether that'll be a true blue Aussie actor, or an American attempting our famous drawl.

Mad Max is still tightly under wraps, currently in development for PC and an assortment of consoles, due out in 2014. Stay tuned.
