Welcome to Player Attack!
Diablo III is set to hit the PS3 and Xbox 360 later this year, but if you wanted to fight the Lord of Terror on your shiny new PS4, you'll have to wait a little longer. Blizzard explains that it's not prepared to simply shovel the current-gen versions onto the new hardware.
Unfortunately for us, this means that our hopes that Diablo III would stand tall as a launch title have been dashed. The news came to light when the team at DiabloFans recently chatted to game director Josh Mosqueira as well as designers Wyatt Cheng and Travis Day.
The development team are working hard to make sure the game is right for PS3/Xbox 360, but will then require more time to tailor the Diablo III experience to make it right for PS4. Each console requires its own special attention, to "make the expansion features as relevant to each platform as possible".
And just in case you'd been hangin' out for a handheld version of Diablo III, Blizzard want to crush those dreams as well: The Lord of Terror is only headed to home consoles, PC and Mac. No hack 'n' slash on the bus for you!
Diablo III is due on Xbox 360 and PS3 on September 3rd.
I like video games and music and cups of tea and noodles and beagles and colour-cycling LEDs.
