Steam Summer Getaway Sale threatens wallets

Brace yourselves, Steam has officially kicked off its 2013 Summer Getaway Sale, promising discounts on hundreds of games for PC, Mac and Linux. It's early days yet, but the studio has already laid out savings of up to 75% on games like BioShock Infinite, Skyrim, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Grid 2 and Don't Starve.

That, of course, is just the beginning.

Does just what it says.

Does just what it says.

The Summer Getaway Sale promises one hundred (100!) Daily Deals kicking off over the next eleven days. And just in case you thought you only needed to check once a day, think again: Steam is also offering eight-hour only deep-discount Flash Sales.

...and on top of that, you can help pick what games you'd like to see on sale, thanks to the Community's Choice Voting Sales.

You'll even be rewarded for buying games: There are 10 brand new Summer Getaway Trading Cards that can only be earned during this week's sale. You can also collect, trade and craft more than 50 other sets of cards, if that's your thing (and then craft your cards into emoticons, backgrounds, badges and other rewards).

But be quick. The Steam Summer Getaway Sale is only running until July 22nd, so you'd better be quick! For more information, head to - they've got all the details.
