State of Decay Australian Edition granted R18+

The system works: The revised version of State of Decay has officially been granted an R18+ rating in Australia, with the Classification Board citing "High impact violence" as the only consumer advice.

The original version of the game had the same level of violence, but paired that with drug use related to incentives or rewards, which got State of Decay Refused Classification - effectively banned from sale or display Down Under.

It didn't take developer Undead Labs long to figure out a way around the problem: Replace stimulants with supplements, and resubmit the title to the Board.

Hey presto - it worked! As Undead observes: "Who could possibly not like vitamins?"

There is no official release date for State of Decay in Australia - the game is currently digitally available via Xbox Live just about everywhere else in the world.
