Fish confirms Fez update incoming for XBLA

Brace yourselves: Indie icon Phil Fish has announced that he is working on an update for Fez, which will (hopefully) fix the dramas fans are having with the game on Xbox 360.

Famously, Fish refused to patch the game when the error first popped up over a year ago, citing Microsoft's substantial fee system when creating patches for Xbox Live Arcade titles (indie or otherwise).

Now, Microsoft has publicly removed the fees, and Fez is jumping at the chance to update. Fish announces via Twitter:

GOOD NEWS EVERYONE: we're going to patch FEZ on XBLA!

it's going to take a few months, though. but we're doing it!

We're not holding our breaths for that one - Fish isn't necessarily the sort of person who works to the standard timeframes, but he's serious: Fez will be updated. It's unknown how - or if - this update will affect the development of Fez 2.
