The Game Music Bundle website updated a few hours ago with a bundle they've been teasing us with for the past few weeks. The Retro Game Music Bundle, as it is aptly titled, features five classic gaming soundtracks (which span seven games) at its base level, which will set you back just $1. Despite its name and games that are generally associated with the term retro, the soundtracks on offer here are suprising and definitely worth your money. Some of these soundtracks haven't ever been released before this bundle!
The first level includes:
If this near six hours of music isn't enough for you, if you pay above $10, you get access to the second level which contains a whopping 13 more albums! These include more classic soundtracks including Shadow Warrior, Cosmo's Cosmic Adventure and Stargunner. It also includes some newer soundtracks for good measure including the ones for Double Dragon Neon, Edge and coda's wonderful soundtrack to Alter Ego Dreamwalker.
Some of these soundtracks haven't actually existed in this form prior to this bundle and so the people at Game Music Bundle had to record the music from some of the games using various methods. They talk about it a bit in a massive post on their blog.
So for $10, you can get 18 albums, many of which would help us recollect memories of ourselves in a much younger form playing these games.
As it is with each Game Music Bundle, you can download the albums in both FLAC and MP3 form and it's always a pay-what-you-want model provided you meet the minimums for the level you want. This bundle is available until June 5th from Game Music Bundle.
