Fish Out Of Water leaps onto iTunes

It's seemed like a slow start to 2013 for Halfbrick, but the team has been working hard behind the scenes and are now ready to show off the fruits of its labour: Fish Out Of Water, a brand new game exclusively for iOS.

Just like previous games Jetpack Joyride and Fruit Ninja, Fish Out Of Water is easy to play, tricky to master, and super-duper addictive.

The story is simple: A daredevil bunch of fishies (including speed-demon Rocket, Micro the Whale and a "vacant blowfish" named Errol) want to see the world from an all-new perspective - and it's your task to help them soar above the surface.

The control system is equally stress-free: Based entirely around a one-touch interface, simply throw your fish across the screen, sending them flying through the clouds and skimming the waves.

You're given three throws in each round. Choose the best fish for the job - the in-game weather changes every hour (from a glassy calm surface to a raging thunderstorm - and everything in between), so some fishies are better than others in certain situations. And just when you thought it was safe to get back above the water, Halfbrick has thrown in geysers, glaciers and even a bouncing jellyfish invasion, just to keep you on your toes.

Luke Muscat, lead designer on Fish Out Of Water explains:

We want to make this a vibrant, living world. Creating a whole cast of different characters, the dynamic weather system and social leagues resulted in an exponential level of depth to a simple, fun mechanic. Just the way we like it!

Fish Out Of Water is available right now in the iTunes App Store for $0.99 - and you can pick it up for just about any modern iDevice you care to mention.
