A short but sweet announcement for fans of both Apple computers and the world of Columbia: BioShock Infinite is headed to Mac, by the middle of the year.

Publishing/porting duties have been picked up by equal-opportunity studio Aspyr, which has done the same switching act on a number of AAA games in the past.

This time around, it promises to be every bit as good as BioShock Infinite on PC - but potentially even better, thanks to the removal of that pesky second mouse button.

Mac gamers will take on the role of Booker DeWitt as he travels to the lost flying city of Columbia to rescue a mysterious girl named Elizabeth. Together, they will learn to harness an expanding arsenal of weapons and abilities, all while surviving the threats of the air-city and uncovering its dark secret.

At this stage, no release date has been, well, released - but if you know for sure right now that you desperately need a copy, there's a simple way to throw your hat in the ring: This here GameAgent BioShock Infinite sweepstakes will see a copy of the game - for Mac - handed out every week until the end of May.

I like video games, fishing, Depeche Mode, long walks on the beach, writing discussion papers and cups of tea. Not necessarily in that order.
