Fez sets Steam date, discusses Vita version

Get ready for an updated Fez fix, with the game happily heading to Steam on May 1st. We're promised cloud saves, leaderboards, achievements and the ability to plug in gamepads, if that's your thing. And if PC isn't what you're into, stay tuned - Phil Fish has hinted that Fez may potentially hop on over to PlayStation Vita sometime soon, too.

Firstly though, the stuff we know for sure. Steam, May 1st, "essentially the exact same game" as the Xbox 360 version, available in English, German, French, Italian, Korean, Spanish, Traditional Chinese, Japanese and Portuguese. You'll need at least Windows XP to run, but it's happy with anything more recent, too. (For the record: A Mac version will follow PC, eventually.)

Of course, the game's also out right now, quite happily, on Xbox 360 - no muss, no fuss, no waiting.

...if you'd prefer a hand-held fix, developer Fish has taken on a Reddit Ask Me Anything challenge, revealing that he's in discussions with Sony "trying to figure something out" with regards to making the game available on PlayStation Vita. This - importantly - is not a guarantee that it'll happen, but it's more likely than if they weren't talking about it, right?

On the other hand, if you want a 3DS version, you're outta luck. Fish describes the idea as "kind of pointless", and simply doesn't believe that Fez would work on Nintendo's handheld. Sorry.
