While Australians are still having issues playing the game at all, all players will now find that leaderboards, achievements and region filters have been disabled. No more cheevo-hunting for the time being, it seems.
We have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of support and enthusiasm from our fans which has made it even more upsetting for us that technical issues have become more prominent in the last 24 hours. We are hitting a number of problems with our server architecture which has seen players encountering bugs and long wait times to enter servers. This is, obviously, not the situation we wanted for our launch week and we want you to know that we are putting everything we have at resolving these issues.
Katsarelis continued that they will be adding new servers over the next few days, are paying close attention to bug reports, and will continue to push out updates as fast as they can.
In response to the fact that many players can't actually play SimCity yet, Amazon has removed digital copies of SimCity from its virtual shelves. Although you can still buy a physical copy of the game, the digital copy has been pulled, with the note:
