Think E3 is easy?
Watch here on E3 week and see how much exercise I do.
Ladies, Gentlemen, Tomb Raider edges ever-closer to release - the glorious return of Lara Croft is just over one week away. To celebrate, here, have some PC specs for the game, and rejoice that the developers at Crystal Dynamics, Square Enix and Nixxes have gone to great lengths to make sure the PC version of the game is every bit as good as - if not better than - its console brethren.
...of course, there's a catch. Tomb Raider simply won't look great if you play it on your old, dusty PC. It might not even work. But. If you've got a swanky, pimped out machine? You're in luck. Expect high-res textures with up to 16 times the data of the console versions, plus higher quality shadows, detail tessellation, HQ bokeh and improved visual effects on things like cloth and liquid.
So what do you need to run this bad boy girl?
Recommended system requirements for PC
If that's a little bit above what you've currently got (and no budget for improvements at this late stage), Tomb Raider developers are lookin' out for the little guy, offering a bunch of "scalability options" for older PCs - even if you're still stuck running Windows XP.
Minimum system requirements for PC
So: After all that, are you happy? Are you rushing down to your local PC retailer to pick up a few more bits and pieces for your rig? (Or are you just going to play Tomb Raider on console like you always intended?)
I like video games, fishing, Depeche Mode, long walks on the beach, writing discussion papers and cups of tea. Not necessarily in that order.
