Blizzard announces Diablo III for PS4 (and PS3)

Perhaps the biggest surprise of today's PlayStation Meeting was the moment when Blizzard's Chris Metzen stepped onto the stage, announcing a joint partnership with Sony that will see the two studios take over the world. What he was actually referring to is only marginally less exciting: Diablo III for PS4 and PS3.

Details on the new version of the game are slim at best, but we are already promised four-player co-op mode - including splitscreen - and a whole bunch of revised controls to best take advantage of the console system.

Of course, Metzen doesn't really need to explain much here - he'll have plenty of time in the coming months. Expect big announcements at PAX East, and, y'know, at that little event called BlizzCon, announced yesterday.
