This is not the first Wii U release that Activision has decided not to deliver to Australian gamers - deciding late last year that the territory did not need another version of launch title 007 Legends.
Last week, Activision sent a barrage of information about the new game - including a first-look trailer - but notably not including any reference to the Wii U build. Now, a local branch of the company has provided a statement to Vooks, explaining the disappointing situation:
As with every game release, publishers decide which platforms to release based on customer demand. Unfortunately it wasn’t there for the Wii U sku on The Walking Dead.
In a smaller market such as Australia, this sort of decision is not uncommon - EA famously refused to import copies of GameCube games, blaming poor sales.
Less than six months after launch, is the Wii U really doing so poorly that it's dropping publisher support already?
I like video games and music and cups of tea and noodles and beagles and colour-cycling LEDs.
