The official first-look for Walking Dead: Survival Instinct has been released and - in stark contrast to the previous, fan-made offering - it doesn't look half bad. Importantly, it's got voice acting from both Michael Rooker and Norman Reedus, and a snippet of storyline. This is a more serious, FPS interpretation, seemingly basing itself more on the tv show rather than the original comic books.
Whether or not the world is big enough for two games based on The Walking Dead is yet to be seen (particularly when the earlier version has done so very, very well for itself). It does, however, look like this one should silence the vocal critics who accused Activision of creating something less than a "true" Walking Dead experience.
Now though, they have something else to worry about. The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct is very close to release. Like, it'll be on shelves within less than two months (PS3 and Xbox 360 from March 29th). And this is the first we've really seen of it. That rarely bodes well for a major release.
I like video games and music and cups of tea and noodles and beagles and colour-cycling LEDs.
