RIP: Mass Effect actor Robin Sachs

BioWare has passed on the sad news that talented actor Robin Sachs, has died, aged 61. While we might know him best as Zaeed Massani from the Mass Effect series, his work history covers a wide variety of geeky pursuits, including Galaxy Quest, Babylon 5, Star Trek: Voyager, and as the villain Ethan Rayne in tv series Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Our thoughts are with Robin’s family and friends during this difficult time, and we thank him for bringing Zaeed to life in the way that only Robin could.

Gamers may also recognise his work as Admiral Saul Karath in Knights of the Old Republic or Lord Pyral Harrowmont in Dragon Age Origins - while he also appeared in a very different role in 1991: Adam Carrington, in the miniseries Dynasty: The Reunion.

Sachs' passing was "sudden and unexpected", according to his official website, which thanks the actor "for all the laughter and the cookies".
