UKIE Game Charts, Week 5 2013

We love charts here at Player Attack, and one of the highlights of our week is receiving the latest details from UKIE, who send us the 40 best-selling titles in Britain, as announced by the The Association for UK Interactive Entertainment.

It's not every week that we are surprised by the #1 game. Traditionally speaking, the charts are a fairly predictable affair - dominated by something full of guns, footballs or the latest exercise trend. The top spot is traditionally filled by a game that's been released on every single platform, saturating the market and guaranteeing itself a combined best-seller.

Today though, we have something completely different. Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch is a glorious Japanese RPG incorporating animation from world-renowned Studio Ghibli. And it's a PS3 exclusive, to boot. The adorable release has bumped last week's #1, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, down to #3 - and that, my friends, is no mean feat. Congratulations, Namco Bandai and Level 5! Congratulations indeed.
