Corbeil won the BAFTA award for Best Music in 2011 for his work on Heavy Rain with Quantic Dream, the French developer is "deeply saddened" over the loss of its dear friend.

Normand was not only one of the most talented composers of his generation; he was a formidable person, kind and humble.

In a statement released to Polygon, Corbeil's son Laurent, explains that the composer died after a six month battle with pancreatic cancer.

Normand was a great composer and an amazing father. We urge anyone who's been touched by his music to donate to pancreatic cancer research. The survival rate for this horrible disease is still far too low.

Normand Corbeil contributed to more than 59 projects in his lifetime, including film and video games - earning an Emmy nomination in 2003 for Hitler: The Rise of Evil and again in 2006 for Human Trafficking.
