EA releases alpha Origin client for Mac

Mac gamers, listen up. EA has heard your cries, understood that you're feeling left out and would like to offer an olive branch. It's not finished yet, but the publisher has released an alpha version of the Origin client for Mac, available to a limited number of lucky beta testers.

At this point, the Mac client is, um, not fully functional. It works, but you don't have the ability to stream gameplay directly to online providers, and - confusingly - you can't actually purchase new software.

Of course, these features will be added soon, making Origin for Mac a comparable experience to the application on PC.

Do you live in the U.S. or the U.K.? Do you want to try this one out? You'll need - obviously - a Mac, running OSX 10.6.8 or newer, and with an Intel Core Duo 2 processor (or better!).

For more information, pop over to the official Origin website and do a little light reading before clicking the appropriate buttons. If you're one of the chosen gamers, you'll even get a free copy of Bookworm from PopCap, just to say thank you.
