007 Legends nominated for Outstanding Writing

The Writers Guild of America has announced their 2013 Videogame Writing Award candidates, and - just like last year - one of these things is not like the others. We're not talking about Vita games - there's two of those. Not talking about Ubisoft games, there's two of them too. The title that stands out this year? The almost globally-panned 007 Legends, from Activision.

Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation, Scriptwriting by Richard Farrese, Jill Murray; Ubisoft

Uncharted: Golden Abyss, Written By John Garvin; Sony Computer Entertainment America

...remember, again, the WGA has strict requirements when it comes to which games are considered for each year's awards. Firstly, the game must have been released between December 1, 2011 and November 30, 2012. The major one, though: Credited writers must be members of the WGA Videogame Writers Caucus (or have applied to become members) at the time of submission.

The awards themselves are judged by members of the Caucus, or who are active in the field of writing video games - and will be awarded on February 17th. Last year's winner? Amy Hennig for Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. 2010? Uncharted 2. Can Sony do it again?
