Think E3 is easy?

Konami has officially announced yet another layer to its 25th anniversary Metal Gear celebrations, with the news that a re-release of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots will be arriving expressly on the PlayStation 3 in December.
Not that we're ungrateful, but Guns of the Patriots isn't even that old - the original came out in 2008, and it's being re-released on exactly the same platform.
However, the new version does bring with it a few fancy bits and pieces.
The story, of course, is the same - a battle-scarred future sees giant comglomerates collecting armies of mercenaries and then using them to fight for supremacy. An aging Solid Snake has been charged with infiltrating a bunch of key locations (including safe places like South America and the Middle East), in a game packed with ground-breaking combat, a new combat system, and a number of plot lines that finally see some sort of resolution.
That was all new in 2008. What's new in 2012 is also pretty cool: Trophy support! Full install! (Yes, both of these have also been released in patches for the original game...) There's also new sleeve artwork and a brand new double-sided poster featuring key characters in Yoji Shinkawa's Metal Gear 25th anniversary artwork.
The new-look Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots arrives in Australia and New Zealand on December 18th.
