Wii U gets another new compulsory update

First there was the cumbersome day one patch, and now, within just a few weeks of release, there's yet another update for your brand new Wii U. Nintendo is keeping pretty quiet about what's involved - beyond a 600MB download - and it is, of course, mandatory.

The Wii U, in all its glory

The official word says the update includes:

Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience.

...we're not sure quite why that takes 600MB, but hey.

Meanwhile, if you'd been planning on holding off on buying a Wii U until a 1GB download wasn't required straight out of the box, you'll be waiting a while - the updated hardware isn't due to land until March 2013.
