When Tomb Raider lands next year, expect things to be a little more atmospheric, thanks to the contributions of Jason Graves. The award-winning Dead Space composer is writing the original score for the latest adventures of Lara Croft, and was so dedicated to finding the perfect sound for the Crystal Dynamics reboot that he collaborated with local sculptor Matt McConnell to create their own original instrument.
The latest video episode of The Final Hours of Tomb Raider sees Chuck star Zachary Levi (yes, that's him with golden locks) head to the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) to chat to Graves about his role in the upcoming release.
Graves' resume is dotted with gaming highlights: As well as the new Tomb Raider and the Dead Space series, it was his score that made F.E.A.R. 3 so perfectly terrifying. Don't think he's only interested in the serious, scary stuff, however: Jason Graves also contributed the music to a little title known as Rayman Raving Rabbids. He's a man of diverse skill!
I like video games and music and cups of tea and noodles and beagles and colour-cycling LEDs.
