Today we have a brand new trailer from a not-so-brand new game: A fresh look at Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, which turned ten years old in October. Now, technically, we're not getting a new look at the game on PlayStation 2 - I doubt there's any "new looks" left at that particular outing, but instead, Rockstar has released a nostalgia-filled retrospective focussing on the game's new outing - Grand Theft Auto: Vice City 10th Anniversary Edition, headed to iOS and Android on December 6th.
Back in the day, Vice City drew upon the success - and the controversy - of Grand Theft Auto III, which launched the year before. The game itself "pushed the open-world game series deeper into pop culture", a love letter dedicated to the cultural excesses and neon streaks of the 1980s.
And now, ten years later and in the words of Doc Brown, it's time to go back!
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City will be released shortly for "select iOS devices" (make sure you check compatibility before giving the App Store all your money), as well as Android handsets and tablets. Set for release on December 6th, keep an eye on your retailer of choice and grab it while it's hot.
I like video games and music and cups of tea and noodles and beagles and colour-cycling LEDs.
