While the popularity of Zynga's -Ville games is somewhat waning in the last half of 2012, the company is planning yet another revamp. Following the success of FarmVille 2, which launched last month, Zynga is already working on CityVille 2, bringing the new 3D visual style to the big smoke.
FarmVille 2, with its 3D graphics, right-click capabilities and crafting mechanics, has been the company's most successful game launch since 2011's CastleVille, and while it's probably too early to discuss how it will perform in the future, it's obvious that Zynga would like to repeat that sort of success with its urban cousins.
CityVille 2 is currently in closed beta in the Phillipines, and - at the moment - there's been no word on release windows, so we'll have to stick it out in the country for a while longer.
I like video games, fishing, Depeche Mode, long walks on the beach, writing discussion papers and cups of tea. Not necessarily in that order.
