38 Studios remnants up for auction, early October

If you want some cheap gaming memorabilia, head to Rhode Island. The lawyer in charge of the remnants of Kingdoms of Amalur developer 38 Studios has announced that "hard goods" left behind by the business will be auctioned off in early October.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning

Lawyer Richard J. Land was named temporary receiver for the bankrupt company last month, and his job now is to sell off all the remaining bits and pieces, in an attempt to pay back some of the millions of dollars of debt that was also left behind by the developer.

Truth be told, you won't really be in the market for unreleased games, concept sketches, or even neat merchandise - but there might be a sweet computer or two, if they haven't already been taken care of. Rather, what the legal team will be selling is much more mundane - likely to be desks and other office furniture, perhaps a dry erase board or a water cooler.

That said, the future of Project Copernicus may well be tucked away in there somewhere, so - if you're in the region, it might be worth swinging past.
