Medal of Honor DLC pack joins hunt for Bin Laden

The most recent Medal of Honor game let you play as the Taliban "Opposing Force" - a Middle Eastern team fighting against the Americans. This time around, a map pack for Medal of Honor: Warfighter puts gamers into a whole 'nother scenario, making them part of the decade-long hunt for Osama Bin Laden.

The DLC pack contains two maps, both based on locations from the upcoming film Zero Dark Thirty (from Hurt Locker director Kathryn Bigelow, by the way). Outside the U.S., the pack is labelled "Hunt" - within the States, it's predictably the "Zero Dark Thirty pack".

The first map - Darra Gun Market - is set on Pakistani tribal land, which EA describes as being defined by only two principles, "hospitality and revenge". It's home to self-taught machinists (building guns by hand) and back-alley shops (selling them), and no police or outsiders are allowed to enter the area. Laws are made by the tribal leader, and - if you're allowed in - it's a perfect place to hide (or be hidden).

Chitral is the second map, also located in Pakistan. In the real world, this area was believed for years to be one of Bin Laden's hideouts. It's perfect - more than 1200 small towns dotted throughout rural mountains and deep narrow valleys, with snow and rough roads making the area inaccessible for a large chunk of the year.

Finding someone who doesn’t want to be found would be next to impossible.

Mark your calendars, the Medal of Honor Warfighter Hunt pack is due out on December 17th for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360. If you're pre-ordering the game, the DLC is free - otherwise you'll have to fork over a little cash. And it's money well-spent: While details are still a little sketchy on how much, a portion of each DLC purchase will be donated to the Project Honor war veteran fund.
