Welcome to Player Attack!
We first met Sir Painhammer a couple of weeks ago, when Ubisoft registered a domain with his name on it. We still don't know too much about the character, but we do now know more about the game he's starring in.
The Mighty Quest for Epic Loot is an asynchronous dungeon crawler, and unlike the AAA games we've seen coming out of Montreal, it's being designed specifically for middle-range gaming PCs, so just about anyone will be able to play.
The game itself takes a simple mechanic and turns it on its head. You'll create your own castle, using a bunch of tiles provided. Rather than simply placing walls and floors, you're also placing monsters and enemies, designed to kill the inevitable invading adventurers. The adventurers, made up of random players, friends made through the game, or real people you know (linked in through Facebook), then try to play through the castle without dying. As they progress, the adventurer can level up, gaining equipment and abilities by raiding castles and unlocking experience points. At the same time, the more the castle-builder plays, the more nifty things are unlocked for the dungeon, too, including upgrades for the terrifying final boss.
I like video games and music and cups of tea and noodles and beagles and colour-cycling LEDs.
