PS3 Killzone Trilogy: Good things come in threes

Earlier this year, plans for a downloadable re-release of Killzone were scrapped. Now, more than six months later, we've found out why - and it's a very nice reason indeed.

Killzone Trilogy has been secretly polished up and prepared for release, heading exclusively (of course!) to PlayStation 3.

First off: Killzone HD has been given an appropriate 2012 HD makeover, as well as full trophy support. If you've never ventured into the realm of the Helghast, this is a perfect introduction - and if you have been there before, it's time to head back for a visit.

The Trilogy pack also contains the ambitious Killzone 2, and Killzone 3 which brought things to an appropriately cinematic climax.

Those are the things that you'd expect in a "Trilogy" pack, right? Three games, that's about it?

Not this time. Guerrilla Games has also thrown in a few other goodies, like all of the multiplayer map packs for both Killzone 2 and Killzone 3, to make sure you've got some fun things to explore.

Killzone 2 Map Pack Bundle

  • Steel & Titanium Map Pack
  • Flash & Thunder Map Pack
  • Napalm & Cordite Map Pack

Killzone 3 Map Pack Bundle

  • Killzone 3 Steel Rain Map Pack
  • Killzone 3 Retro Map Pack
  • Killzone 3 From The Ashes Map Pack

The whole shebang is due out in mid-October, so keep an eye out at your local, preferred gaming emporium. We're promised that "regular news and information" is still on the way before launch, so we're wondering just what else is hidden inside that dark, brooding box.
