Fortnite to hit closed beta in 2013, says Epic

More fun from PAX - confirmation that Epic Games will be hosting a closed beta for the upcoming release of Fortnite.

Sure, it'd be more fun if we knew when this closed beta would be happening, how one could sign up for it, or any information beyond the fact "it's happening", but it's early days yet, and so far, the "Early 2013" guideline will have to suffice. You can't rush things like the first Epic game to use Unreal Engine 4!

At this stage, Joystiq reports that there is one confirmed participant in the closed beta - the lucky lady in Seattle who won the special prize at the Fortnite panel. Congratulations, lucky lady!
