Think E3 is easy?
Watch here on E3 week and see how much exercise I do.
You love new stuff, right? Particularly new stuff that nobody else can play with? Well then, Microsoft wants you to be a beta tester for its Xbox LIVE Update service! It's a first-in / best-dressed system, so if you want to check out the next Xbox LIVE Update before anybody else, you'd better hop to it.
Need more information? You'll be able to try out
Xbox spokesman Major Nelson would also like to point out that "A console in the program is expected to remain fully compatible with standard retail consoles not in the program." Basically: If you're in the beta and your best mate is not, you'll still be able to enjoy a bit of co-op as you see fit.
You're asked to fill out a quick, 5-minute survey at the end of the beta, to let people know what you thought. Don't tell anyone beforehand, though: You will be required to sign a non-disclosure agreement (a pretty standard NDA) to make sure you keep your mouth appropriately shut. Break the NDA, and you're outta the beta (and all Xbox betas moving forward!), plus your Xbox LIVE access will be revoked until the end of the beta program period.
Major Nelson explains:
Our NDA enforcement squad is really good at finding violators; so save us both the trouble and don’t test them.
The last time Microsoft held an open call for testers, the website was swamped and the allocation gone win the blink of an eye. We're promised there are more positions this time around, but still - if you want in, you better be quick!
I like video games, fishing, Depeche Mode, long walks on the beach, writing discussion papers and cups of tea. Not necessarily in that order.
