While at gamescom last week, Sony announced its Cross Buy initiative: Buy a game once on PS3 and get the Vita version free of charge! Predictably, everybody is a little bit pleased with this news - designed to promote cross-play features between games on both platforms - but the publisher has since revealed that while the deal is pretty fantastic, it's also only been confirmed for European audiences.
The first game in line for the Cross Buy treatment is PlayStation All Stars: Battle Royale, with Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time and Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault also preparing for launch. With all three of these games enjoying release in regions other than simply Europe, we're anticipating plenty of backlash from the sizeable Sony audiences in both the U.S. and Japan.
Keep your eyes peeled - hopefully Yoshida is referring to Sony "keeping quiet until the details are sorted out", rather than making a big, rude gesture at two of the company's biggest audiences.
I like video games and music and cups of tea and noodles and beagles and colour-cycling LEDs.
