Think E3 is easy?
Watch here on E3 week and see how much exercise I do.
Konami has narrowed down "early 2013" and given us a release date for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance for Australia and New Zealand. Mark your calendars, Raiden's headed your way on February 21st 2013 for both Xbox 360 and PS3.
This time around, things are a little different. We've still got the action-packed, epic storytelling we expect from an MGR game, but Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance focusses on Raiden, rather than Snake. The child soldier has grown up into a half-man, half-machine cyborg ninja, and he's out for revenge.
It's been several years since the Patriots system controlling the global power balance collapsed, and cyborg technology has become commonplace. The problem is, all of this cybernetic technology has triggered conflict and instabilities, as those in charge bully the weak. Then there's the Private Military Companies which had been supported and controlled by the Patriots. They've now splintered, creating rogue entities, most of them with links to organised crime.
However, the PMC "Maverick Security" aims to keep the peace, with member Raiden living by the mantra of protecting and saving lives, facing up against the renegade groups wrestling for global power. If Raiden truly wants to move forward though, he'll have to step back, resolve his past, and take on anything in his way.
As always, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is packed with plenty of creative adversaries from the mind of Hideo Kojima - the cyborg swordsman Samuel may just be a match for Raiden, but he'll have to battle his way through other cybernetically-enhanced enemies including the Blade Wolf - a robotic creature that wields a chainsaw with its tail.
I like video games, fishing, Depeche Mode, long walks on the beach, writing discussion papers and cups of tea. Not necessarily in that order.
