Think E3 is easy?
Watch here on E3 week and see how much exercise I do.
Even as gamers complain the market is super-saturated with zombies, there's still plenty among us who simply cannot get enough of the lurching undead. Case in point: The War Z, a new zombie-themed MMO. The War Z asked for closed beta sign-ups in mid-July, and publisher Arktos Entertainment Group reports it was swamped by demand.
More than 100,000 gamers signed up for the beta within the first 24 hours, with numbers growing steadily since.
Senior game designer Eric Nordin explains:
We've been following all of the comments on the various forums as well as our Facebook page and it really validates that we're creating something that gamers want to play. We're going to continue working hard and make sure we deliver the best game possible!
The official website for The War Z has just launched, and if you still want a chance to get in on a bit of beta action, Arktos is still accepting sign-ups, mysteriously hidden behind the "pre-order" label.
I like video games, fishing, Depeche Mode, long walks on the beach, writing discussion papers and cups of tea. Not necessarily in that order.
