Welcome to Player Attack!
With Borderlands 2 due out juuust before the Australian R18+ rating kicks in, and with the developer's slight predilection towards a bit of the old ultra-violence, some gamers were concerned the latest from Gearbox might not hit the land Down Under (or Germany, for that matter).
Today, we're happy to report that you can stop worrying: Borderlands 2 will be releaed, uncut, no matter where you are.
As Chris Faylor explains:
Some fans will remember that the first Borderlands game was a bit toned down in certain territories compared to the rest of the world. No longer! Do you live in Germany? Australia? Bandits will be just as likely to explode into bloody chunks of awesomeness as they will be in Canada or England (which is to say: very likely.)
At the same time, if you're the sort of gamer who's not so into the blood and gore and mess, there's a Borderlands 2 for you. It's actually exactly the same game, but Gearbox has implemented a handy "Gore Toggle" option, meaning you can clean up all the red stuff at the touch of a button.
Borderlands 2 is due out on September 18th in North America, arriving internationally on the 21st.
I like video games and music and cups of tea and noodles and beagles and colour-cycling LEDs.
