Think E3 is easy?
Watch here on E3 week and see how much exercise I do.
Like earlier games in the franchise, LittleBigPlanet Karting uses the vocal talents of Mr Stephen Fry to commentate the adventures of Sackboy and his friends. This time around, it seems that despite the best efforts of United Front Games, Mr Fry has developed quite the potty mouth, resulting in this video showing what he really thinks of the new game.
Okay, this is probably just a case of creative bleeping, but for a moment, relax in the knowledge that "Taking a sh*t will slow you down; avoid it if you can." (If Stephen Fry says it, it must be true!)
LittleBigPlanet Karting is in development at United Front Games, who also created the user-generated kart racing game ModNation Racers, working closely with Media Molecule. Don't expect a simple spin-off title though - this isn't just ModNation Racers featuring Sackboy. Instead, it's an all-new game featuring an all-new engine, packed with new gameplay modes, a comprehensive level editor and an expansive 3D world.
James Grieve, Senior Producer at United Front Games explains the concept behind the game:
Our goal with LBP Karting has been fairly simple – provide a fast-paced experience that captures the best of classic karting gameplay, married with the unbridled creativity of LBP. This new adventure will be accessible to players of all ages and have all of the variety necessary to satisfy both the hardcore and more casual players.
Currently available in closed beta only, LittleBigPlanet Karting is due out exclusively for PS3 by the end of the year.
I like video games, fishing, Depeche Mode, long walks on the beach, writing discussion papers and cups of tea. Not necessarily in that order.
Looks like a giant Mario Kart ripoff. It’s unbelievable (oh yeah makebelieve) how low Sony’s standards have sunk. Guess they are truly desperate in their financial crisis and abusing their once succesful franchises left and right.
Agree. I couldn’t believe in the boost after drift thing.
[...] though the movie's just heard some good news!). Finally, Stephen Fry would like you to know that LittleBigPlanet Karting is %*#&ing great, in case there was any [...]
Freaking love Mario Kart. It would be awesome to see an worthy contender to it. This game still looks way off though. The art looks early, but hopefully they can bring it together for a sack boy themed HD Mario Kart :D
Agreed this bullshit.
