Blizzard fixes Diablo 3 invincibility exploit

We're sure it was fun while it lasted (if you're into that sort of thing), but Blizzard has officially announced that it has fixed the invincible Wizard exploit in Diablo III, which we told you about yesterday.

Diablo III

Back to normal you go.

Just like the original report, the update came via the game's forums, where European RTS Community Manager Stefanie “Xordiah” Gwinner explained:

We are currently rolling out a hotfix for a recent bug regarding invulnerable Wizards. We will continue to carefully monitor this issue and welcome anyone with information about bugs or hacks to submit a detailed report to our Hacks Team by emailing hacks@blizzard.com, or by completing the Hacks Report web form. In your correspondence, please include any steps necessary to replicate the issue as well as any additional details you are able to provide.

Across the pond, Xordiah's American counterpart - Vasadan, who looks after Quality Assurance - asks fans to remember that the Bug Report forums are "not the place to discuss game balance, the Auction House, nor other games like Torchlight".

Let that be a lesson to you. (At this stage, there's been no discussion of any sort of penalty for gamers who chose to take advantage of the exploit.)
