Think E3 is easy?
Watch here on E3 week and see how much exercise I do.
South Park: The Stick of Truth continues to creep its way up everybody's must-play list with every new snippet of information. The latest? A new handful of screens from the stylised cartoon RPG, which have some gamers a little confused.
In case you missed the memo, South Park: The Stick of Truth is set in whitebread mountain town South Park, Colorado. You are the new kid in town, and - like all new kids - face the greatest challenge of your third-grade existence: Making friends.
That would be a nifty enough game - particularly with these screenshots which look like they've been lifted directly from the animated series - but it's not exciting enough for South Park, which has thrown in a couple of additional elements to keep things interesting. All the children of South Park have gotten wrapped up in a live-action-role-playing game sweeping the city, meaning the under-10s are running amok, casting imaginary spells and swinging fake swords at each other. Over time, the kids' game starts to escalate, and soon becomes a battle of Good vs Evil, threatening to consume the entire world.
*ahem* ...you have the opportunity to pick up legendary weapons, which you'll need to take on forces of evil (including underpants gnomes, crabpeople and hippies). Overall though, your quest is simple: Find the lost Stick of Truth and shed the title of "New Kid", as you take your rightful place alongside Stan, Kyle, Cartman and Kenny as their newest friend. Your social status at South Park elementary will be cemented as South Park's saviour!
Of course, if you fail? You will be forever known as a loser. Simple.
South Park: The Stick of Truth is due out on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, hitting shelves on March 5th, 2013.
I like video games, fishing, Depeche Mode, long walks on the beach, writing discussion papers and cups of tea. Not necessarily in that order.
