Ladies and gentlemen, I would like to confirm that there are not one, but two games based on JoJo's Bizarre Adventure headed to modern consoles. Capcom has just announced an "HD, feature-filled upgrade" of classic 2D PS1/Dreamcast era fighter JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is in the works, headed to Xbox Live and PlayStation Network in late August.
The predictably-titled JoJo's Bizarre Adventure HD Version is based on just one story arc from the (in)famous manga series. Just like the original, it's packed with a dynamic, over-the-top roster of characters from the books, plus a bunch of insane combinations, plus each character has their own "Stand" - a supernatural familiar which will unlock some crazy special moves.
The revamp also brings onine features to the party (as well as HD visuals, of course) - if you're familiar with Super Street Fighter IV and Marvel vs. Capcom 3, you've got a fair idea of what's in store.
...and the particularly exciting thing? This is all happening alongside JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All-Star Battle, confirmed earlier this month as being in development at CyberConnect2 for Namco Bandai.
I like video games, fishing, Depeche Mode, long walks on the beach, writing discussion papers and cups of tea. Not necessarily in that order.
[...] fingers crossed that it'll make its way to other territories – hopefully, if the recent release of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure HD proves that there are people interested in Dio and pals outside of Japan, things might go our way. [...]
