Steam Greenlight: Vote for the games you want

Ever wanted to help choose which games are added to Steam? Now, with a new platform feature, Valve is giving you that ability. Steam Greenlight gives developers and publishers the opportunity to directly convince the Community that their game is most worthy of a release on Steam.

Steam Greenlight

Valve's Anna Sweet explains the new Greenlight system is part of a delegation system:

Making the call to publish or not publish a title isn't fun! Many times opinions vary and our internal jury is hung on a decision. But with the introduction of the Steam Workshop we realized an opportunity to enlist the community's help as we review certain titles and, hopefully, increase the volume and quality of creative submissions.

Greenlight is a natural progression from the feedback system implemented in Steam Workshop, launched last year. The intention is two-fold: Greenlight will provide an opportunity for publishers and devs to communicate directly with potential fans, raising exposure for their games - but also, serving as a handy clearing house for the many game submissions Valve receives.

Head to the official website for all the information you could possibly need. Steam Greenlight will be released on August 30th, expect an influx of "Vote for my game!" in early September.
