Welcome to Player Attack!
After a couple of days at E3, the sea of flashy lights and blaring soundtracks blends into one another, leaving the show floor as a sort of homogenised mess of games, titles, developers and consoles. It takes a very special sort of game to stand out from that sort of swamp - and an even more special one to do it from a mobile platform.
I'd like to introduce you to The Act, an intriguing game for iOS in the works at React Entertainment. If you haven't heard of it yet, you will soon - it takes its cues from some of the world's most classic and beautiful animations, partnered with a timeless story, and bundled up into an intuitive smartphone experience. Don't take my word for it - let Daniel Kraus, principal and co-founder of the studio, explain just what the team's been up to.
(What he means is: Despite a striking resemblance to Larry Laffer (he of the Leisure suits), Edgar is virtually the complete opposite. He's a great guy, but will he receive all that he deserves?)
The Act is React's first title (although Dan and co-founder Alain Laferrière have each been in the industry for more than 20 years), with the studio spread between Montreal, Canada and Miami, Florida. It's definitely something to keep an eye out for, and you can trust we'll be on the case.
