[E32012] Video Interview: NFS Most Wanted [iOS]

The EA pre-Expo media briefing at E3 2012 included confirmation that Criterion is working on a new interpretation of super-popular racer Need for Speed: Most Wanted. One day later, and EA Mobile has confirmed that Aussie studio IronMonkey is also working on an interpretation of the game. The major difference: IronMonkey's version will fit right in your pocket.

We managed to find Michael deGraff from IronMonkey, and had a quick chat about what's in store for the game, what it was like working with Criterion (again), and some of the awesome features packed into this new racer.

Developed from the ground up for iOS, Need for Speed: Most Wanted is action-packed, featuring intuitive motion controls, touchscreen elements and achievements for just about everything. We had a chance to check it out, and proving its pick-up-and-playability (and its consistency), managed thoroughly respectable 3rd places in two runs.

Note: Third place was perfectly acceptable for a first (and second) race in, particularly for someone who typically doesn't dabble in racing games. I'd probably have been faster, had I not been obsessed with trying to smash the rear bumper off of my Porsche, grinding all of the paint off of one side of the car, or running into things to see the real-time physics in action. What good's a racing game if you can't appreciate the scenery?

This week, it's E3 time - and for Player Attack, that means plenty of videos for you to watch. To see what we've been up to, check the E3 2012 events page, or hop over to our Blip.tv channel.
