UKIE Game Charts, Week 20 2012

Max Payne 3

We love charts here at Player Attack, and one of the highlights of our week is receiving the latest details from UKIE, who send us the 40 best-selling titles in Britain, as announced by the The Association for UK Interactive Entertainment.

With two major new games landing in the same week, it was always going to be a battle of the heavyweights in the charts. Some will be surprised to hear that - despite all the pre-launch hype (and the post-launch drama), the victor was not Diablo III. Instead, a grizzled, grumpy alcoholic with a penchant for painkillers has taken top spot - the first for Rockstar since L.A. Noire launched a year ago.

Diablo III hardly failed, however: It is the 12th fastest-selling PC game in the UK. Plus it's important to remember that - unlike Max Payne 3, Diablo III only launched on one platform, and - thanks to Blizzard's forethought - sold a healthy number of copies online.
