Japanese mobile social game network GREE is on its way to the west, expecting to launch GREE Platform in the second quarter of 2012. The global, mobile gaming system will connect both iOS and Android games through a "borderless" cross-platform network.
GREE plans to build relationships with third party developers and publishers, giving the new network a healthy launch lineup - and it's off to a good start, with Ubisoft announcing that an all-new Assassin's Creed title will be available for the new Platform in December.
Assassin's Creed was originally launched back in 2007 and quickly became one of the world's best selling gaming franchises. The currently un-named title for GREE Platform - to be released in both English and Japanese - caps off a massive year for the franchise, following the launch of Assassin's Creed III on October 30th.
It's not the first mobile game for the series, which also features comic books, novels and short films, but Ubisoft and GREE are planning to bring an all-new, innovative social gaming experience to the table - and it'll fit right in your pocket.
I like video games and music and cups of tea and noodles and beagles and colour-cycling LEDs.
