Star Wars social mobile game headed to Japan

If there's one thing this world is lacking, it's more games based on George Lucas's Star Wars series, right? Apparently Konami thinks so, announcing plans to release a mobile game based on the franchise in Japan.

Star Wars Collection is a social title, based on the six films of the series. Players will undertake missions in the Star Wars universe, collect characters and pick up vehicles from the movies. Every now and then, Konami also promise "special events" based on events from the original films, to keep things interesting.

Siliconera reports that the game will launch first on the GREE social network in February, before Star Wars Collection heads to iOS in March - no word as yet whether or not this Japanese-only title will branch out and conquer the West.
