Dead Island expands history with new DLC

If you wanted a new look at the events which unfolded in Dead Island, now's your chance, with developer Deep Silver announcing a brand new story DLC pack for the game.

...and rather than picking a random who happened to be on the island at the same time, Deep Silver has gone the whole hog - allowing gamers to play as Ryder White, the antagonist of the main game.

Now, you're given the chance to find out why this military man and loving husband did "what he had to do".

The new playable character brings with him "several hours" of new single-player campaign, packed with all sorts of twists and turns designed to change your experience of Dead Island. Not least, there's two new blueprints and weapons to expand your arsenal.

The best bit? You won't be waiting too long to revisit Dead Island - the DLC is due out on February 1st for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. None too shabby.
