So, you think you're pretty amazing on the Battlefield, hey? Want to show off your skills and win a trip to Sweden in the process? EA and DICE want to see what you can get up to in Battlefield 3, in a pretty awesome little video contest.
Do you have what it takes to jump out of a jet into a helicopter, grab hold of the machine gun and take out an entire enemy platoon? From dodging RPGs and sniping a helicopter pilot to controlling tanks and leveling buildings, these types of unscripted moments are something that can only be found in one game – Battlefield 3.
The generous sorts at DICE would like to celebrate the successful launch of their game - and to thank the ever-growing community for the game at the same time. Enter, the Only in Battlefield 3 Community Video Challenge. Create (and capture!) your own epic BF3 experience, and submit your video for the whole world to see.
All you have to do is upload your HD video to YouTube, and then email the link to firstname.lastname@example.org, with the subject line "Only in Battlefield 3 Community Video Challenge".
You've got until January 23, 2012 to jump in - and while that might sound like it's a while off, it's only really a little over a month!
Videos will be judged by the DICE Battlefield 3 team, who will then pick out a shortlist. Those ten favourites will be posted in a special playlist on the official Battlefield YouTube channel so that the community can check out what's going on.
Finally, after showing everything off to the general public, DICE will go back to the shortlist and pick out the three winners.
The prize includes two round-trip tickets to Stockholm (take a friend, from anywhere in the world), where you'll have plenty of time to explore the Swedish capital and visit the DICE studios, with three nights' accommodation in a swish hotel.
For more information, head to the competition's official website and read up on the rules.
I like video games and music and cups of tea and noodles and beagles and colour-cycling LEDs.
