As if we needed any further reason to salivate over Dota 2, the generous folks at Valve have just launched the first trailer for the game. Now you can check out the in-game world, exploring it through the narrative of the Dota 2 shopkeeper.
This is, of course, in the leadup to The International, the inaugural Dota 2 Championships to be held at Gamescom. The world's 16 best Dota teams are competing in a double elimination playoff format across August 17-21 in Cologne, Germany. The winner gets $1 million, awarded by Valve.
Want to get in on the action? The International will be broadcast in Chinese, German, Russian and English, totally free of charge.
Despite still skirting around a specific release date, Valve is promising that Dota 2 will be released for both PC and Mac "later this year". Right up until that happens, you'll have to rely on things like this trailer and this small handful of screenshots.
